Booking is one phone call. But what does your employee actually get after that? A behind-the-scenes look at the Summer Crash Course: five weeks of intensive language training.<\/p>\n

In our previous blog, why you book now and not in six weeks<\/a>, we wrote about timing. Why summer is the smartest moment of the year, and why waiting takes the choice out of your hands.<\/p>\n

But booking is only the beginning. The question that comes next, and the one many HR managers actually ask before saying yes, is simple: what happens then? What does the programme look like for the employee who starts it? And what do you notice as an HR manager?<\/p>\n

In this blog we walk through the entire Summer Crash Course, step by step. From the first conversation to the moment someone steps into a meeting in September with more confidence.<\/p>\n

Step 1: the intake call<\/h2>\n

It doesn’t start with a lesson plan, but with a conversation. Before anyone sits down behind their laptop, we map out what the employee needs. Which language, which level, and above all: in which situations does it currently break down?<\/p>\n

That last point matters most. The manager who reads German just fine but freezes up on the phone needs something very different from the international colleague who speaks fluently but struggles with formal emails. So no standard programme, but a starting point that matches the reality of that one person.<\/p>\n

For you as an HR manager, this conversation is also the moment it becomes concrete. Which employees, which languages, which schedule. After that, we take it from there.<\/p>\n

Step 2: the right trainer, not just any trainer<\/h2>\n

Based on that conversation, we match the employee with a trainer who fits. Not only in terms of language, but in terms of context. Someone who understands the learner’s world, whether that’s client contact, technical work or boardroom meetings.<\/p>\n

That match largely determines the result. A trainer who asks the right questions and chooses the right examples gets more out of five weeks than a generic course does in six months. And because you book now rather than later, there’s still room to actually get that right trainer.<\/p>\n

Step 3: what a week looks like<\/h2>\n

The programme consists of 15 hours, spread over a maximum of five weeks. Ten of those are personal sessions with the trainer, via Teams. The other five are e-learning, which the employee completes at their own pace. On average that comes down to around three hours a week. A session is not a classroom lesson. It’s two hours behind your laptop, one on one, focused entirely on your situation. The trainer works with material that fits the employee’s job: the emails they actually send, the conversations they actually have, the meetings they actually sit in.<\/p>\n

The e-learning in between makes it stick. Not as homework tacked on at the end, but as a way to practise between sessions at times that suit. Around a holiday week too, because everything is online and flexibly scheduled.<\/p>\n

Step 4: why the Summer Crash Course activates what’s already there<\/h2>\n

This is the heart of the whole programme. The Summer Crash Course isn’t designed to get someone to a new language level. The goal is to finally put the language someone already has to use, freely and with confidence.<\/p>\n

That sounds like a small difference, but it’s exactly what holds most people back. The knowledge is usually already there. The words, the grammar, the understanding. What’s missing is the habit of using that knowledge without hesitating. A good trainer removes that barrier, step by step, in the context of everyday work.<\/p>\n

That’s why five weeks works. Not because you learn a language in five weeks, but because in five weeks you can turn a habit around. From hesitating to doing.<\/p>\n

Step 5: what you notice as an HR manager<\/h2>\n

During the Summer Crash Course you don’t have to do anything as an HR manager. That’s by design. You arranged it in the intake call, and after that it runs on its own.<\/p>\n

What you do notice comes afterwards. And it’s more concrete than a certificate. It’s the employee who speaks up in a meeting instead of staying quiet. The email that goes out without a second thought. The client call that runs more smoothly than before. Small things that together make the difference between someone who knows the language and someone who uses it.<\/p>\n

Do I need to keep track of anything as an HR manager during the programme?<\/h3>\n

No. You arrange it in the intake call and after that it runs independently. You’ll see the results afterwards, in practice.<\/p>\n

How is the trainer chosen?<\/h3>\n

Based on the intake call, we match the employee with a trainer who fits both the language and the work context. The earlier you book, the more choice there is.<\/p>\n

Does it work around holidays?<\/h3>\n

Yes. Everything is online via Teams and scheduled individually, so the programme simply continues around holiday periods.<\/p>\n
