Business German for your organisation

Germany is the largest trading partner of the Netherlands. Even so, many Dutch professionals hold their German conversations in English, or in a German that has not moved beyond secondary school. That rarely costs deals, but it does cost precision: nuance in negotiation, trust in the relationship and authority at the table.

At Language Partners we combine live training with a personal online academy. Employees practise during the sessions with a trainer and continue on their own afterwards, at their own pace.

What employees learn

  • Business German in everyday work situations: meetings, emails, phone calls
  • The right forms of address and levels of formality, from Sie to du
  • Negotiating and persuading in German
  • Writing skills: quotations, reports and correspondence
  • Terminology from your own industry
  • Cultural differences in German business practice

Our training formats

  • Blended: 33 hours over 11 weeks, 21 hours with a trainer and 12 hours in the online academy. This is our standard.
  • Face-to-face: 30 hours entirely with a trainer, without an online component. Other packages on request.
  • Crash course: 15 hours over 5 weeks, 10 hours with a trainer and 5 hours in the academy, for people who need results fast.

Every format can run at your office, at one of our locations or online, individually or in a group of up to 8 people.

What sets us apart

  • Trainers with a genuine business background who know German commercial practice
  • Progress reports per employee for HR
  • Level assessments based on the Common European Framework
  • Training built around material from your own organisation
  • Starting within a few weeks of first contact

Frequently asked questions

What is Business German at Language Partners? A tailored programme focused on professional communication in German. The content is built around your industry, the language level and the learning goals of the participants, from correspondence and meetings to negotiation.

Who is the training for? For professionals who deal with German-speaking partners: sales teams, buyers, account managers, engineers and management.

How many participants can join a group? Up to 8 participants. That group size guarantees personal attention and enough speaking time for everyone.

How long does a programme take? Blended runs 33 hours over 11 weeks, with 21 hours with a trainer and 12 hours in the online academy. Face-to-face is 30 hours entirely with a trainer. The crash course is 15 hours over 5 weeks.

What does Business German training cost? That depends on the format, the group size and the duration. The crash course starts at 1,399 euros per participant. For blended and face-to-face programmes you receive a tailored proposal within 2 working days.

Is German still necessary if everyone speaks English? In many German organisations German is the working language, including in international contacts. People who speak it get access to conversations that would otherwise be lost in translation, and build trust faster.
